The last book I read cover to cover made me so excited I wanted to share what I had learned with everyone. I was calling my family members, sharing with coworkers and thinking about previous relationships or situations that could have had a better outcome had I read it sooner.
Although it was hard for me to avoid skipping to the end or researching an outline online, I was glad I resisted the urge. With each chapter, I was assigning people in my life to different categories based on what I had read.

Being surrounded by love, I began to think about my love life and the fact that I’ve been on two dates in the last two years and haven’t been off the market since my junior year in high school. Living single has taught me a lot about love and life. For now, I’ll focus on the latter.

Quality time is my primary love language, and that was our version of it. Although he’s been a father for more than two decades, his parenting skills and our relationship still get better with time. The father I have today is the best one I’ve ever had, and that gives me hope that spreads into many other areas of my life. In honor of Father’s Day, I think it’s only fitting to share some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from my dad throughout the last 25 years of my life.
