When I transitioned to life as a full-time adult and working professional I had a lot more time on my hands than I had during my years of college and grad school. Although I had heard about Netflix, I didn’t take advantage of the abundance of entertainment until then. In effort to get a good ROI on my $11 monthly investment in the streaming service, I incorporated Movie Mondays into my weekly routine. Because I am a big fan of romantic comedies, action, and suspense films that take me on an emotional rollercoaster and there isn’t a shortage of content, I often struggle to make a decision on movie night. To prevent you from doing the same the next time you sit down to “Netflix and Chill” here are eight titles I would recommend and watch again.

Although I dreamed of starting my blog for several years during college it wasn’t until I was headed out the door of graduate school that I finally launched it. As I entered the “Real World” I didn’t keep up. I could have, but I let one missed week turn into many and before I knew it months had gone by that I had been neglecting my beloved blog. In February of 2018, I began to analyze my position at United Way and the thing I missed most was writing. The end of the year brings joy, reflection and charity. For nonprofits of all sizes it’s a critical time for organizations to bring in their final streams of donations. Having been a supporter of nonprofit organizations for many years prior to beginning my professional career, I can say firsthand that generous contributions, large and small, are appreciated and truly make a difference in lives and communities. Although Giving Tuesday of 2018 has come and gone, donations made through the end of the year are just as significant for such organizations and may provide tax benefits for donors.
