The gift of life and 25 others I love / by Jasmine Tate

Looking back at the past few weeks feels like my life was swept up in a world wind. My weekends were dominated by celebrations starting with my dad’s 56th birthday, followed by a family wedding and ending with a bachelorette weekend in Houston. This weekend is mine and it’s one to celebrate me!

My 25th birthday was one that I will cherish for many years to come. The people around me made me feel extremely loved and appreciated. The celebration started with my work family at one of my preferred restaurants in the Inland Empire on Thursday. The next day I walked into my office to find a desk full of flowers, goodies and walls lined with fun decorations, which left me in tears. It was also a day of our monthly staff retreat and a spirit day- Hats and Halloween- for Friday the 13th. Of course I wore my birthday hat!

Inland Empire United Way hosted bi-monthly spirit days each month. My birthday fell on Hat Day!

The celebration continued as I picked up my brother from the airport and spent the next two days spending quality time with him and exploring Southern California more than I had all year.
